Earth Song

John Falzone Freak Machine

The fourth disc by volcanic trumpeter Giovanni Falzone brings together a series of pieces composed in an unconventional form.

The fourth disc by volcanic trumpeter Giovanni Falzone brings together a series of pieces composed in an unconventional form. The main goal of this project is to retrace, according to the personal vision of the leader, executive moments with well-defined structures for all instruments and moments of pure “interplay” i.e., the desire to carry forward a common thought, making from a small idea a collective musical discourse, relying mainly on thematic improvisation and the use of electronics. The compositions are characterized by strong rhythmic and melodic components, steeped in suggestions ranging from Mediterranean Folk to Punk/Rock, through which the Trio moves the entire sound framework. Capable and attentive musicians with whom Falzone has established a relationship of complicity and musical understanding are part of this project, thanks above all to their sensitivity and ability to pick up on every small signal.
