All about Eva

Auditorium Band

The Auditorium Band's first original project is not just jazz music, but neither is it pop music; it is a journey into the sounds and lyrics written by great women.

“All About Eva” is the first original project of theAuditorium Band, the latest Fondazione Musica per Roma-born lineup among those resident at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone. The modular ensemble, directed by Gigi De Rienzo, is made up of musicians who share the common characteristic of being able to explore different genres and being at ease, eclectically, in multiple musical contexts.

“All About Eve” is not just jazz music, but neither is it pop music: it is a journey into the sounds and lyrics written by great women: from Carla Bley to Joni Mitchell, via Carmen Consoli, Kate Bush, Gianna Nannini, Alanis Morissette, Björk, Teresa De Sio and many others. Such a variety of different souls, each with its own world and beauty, that at the end of the journey one might question the very concept of “gender.” It is also a way for people to discover how many very famous songs were composed, and not simply sung as the traditional image would suggest, by women.

TheAuditorium Band reinterprets this material in an exciting, at times surprising live performance. Maria Pia De Vito and Raiz, give voice, personality and passion to the concert. The CD, produced by Gigi De Rienzo, collects the best of some of the combo’s performances held at Casa del Jazz and Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone in 2021.
