Soul Church Music

Ugoless

The trio combines different sounds, the acoustic sounds of drums and saxophones and the electronic sounds of synthesizers and samplers, trying their hand mainly at original compositions or reworkings of "musical quotations."

“Soul Church Music” is the new recording work for Parco della Musica Records by the Ugoless collective, a jazz-electronic trio composed of Daniele Tittarelli, Fabio Sasso and Andrea Guastadisegni. The trio combines different sounds, the acoustic sounds of drums and saxophones and the electronic sounds of synthesizers and samplers, trying their hand mainly at original compositions or reworkings of “musical quotations.”

Among the notes are the stories of two jazz musicians, saxophonist Daniele Tittarelli and drummer Fabio Sasso, and sound designer and audio engineer Andrea Guastadisegni, with their musical and cultural influences. Here references such as John Coltrane, Moondog, and Autechre are modulated with samplings of famous phrases from the worlds of film, politics, and history, ranging from Kubrick to Freud to Zeman.

There have been numerous collaborations with other musicians, and for this new project they have enlisted the help of pianist and keyboardist Domenico Sanna, a multifaceted artist, free spirit and original. The idea of improvisation is never lacking, it is predominant, so as to make live concerts creative and unique, always experimenting with polyrhythms and new sounds.

  • Daniele Tittarelli - saxophones and keyboards
  • Domenico Sanna - electric pianos, synthesizers
  • Fabio Sasso - acoustic & electronic drums
  • Andrea Guastadisegni - modular synthetizer, samplers, drum machine
