Recorded in January 2020, “IN D” is a tribute by the Ludus Gravis Ensemble at Terry Riley, a leading representative of minimalist music, and to composer and double bassist Stefano Scodanibbio.“IN D “is the double bass ensemble version of Terry Riley ‘s “IN C” reworked by Italian composer and double bassist Stefano Scodanibbio in 2010. In 2020 Ludus Gravis turned ten years old, and in this concert for the first time the ensemble expanded to twelve double basses, actually with the addition of a thirteenth, because “in Michele Rabbia ‘s shamanic art even a double bass placed horizontally can become a complete percussion set.”
