History Lessons

"Love, whether it lasts for an instant or for eternity is the only creative basis for a new world." So wrote Emma Goldman, philosopher, anarchist, among the first revolutionaries to denounce the dictatorial drift of the Soviet Union, was also a champion of women and an advocate of birth control. She ended up in prison for this and was called, not surprisingly, the "most dangerous woman in America."

Valeria Palumbo, historian and journalist.
