Press releases

Building on the successes just achieved with Roma Summer Fest, the season of concerts in the Cavea that this year with 58 appointments realized as many as 170,000 spectators (more than 20,000 viewers, +13% compared to 2022), the Fondazione Musica per Roma resumes the programming in the indoor halls confirming itself as one of the favorite venues for Romans, a unique pole of attraction in the international panorama as far as concerts, shows and cultural activities are concerned. In the 2023 – 2024 season there are many new features that will be introduced in the programming, starting with the artistic residencies that this year, in addition to Oscar winner Nicola Piovani, will involve two other Roman artists, Tosca and Daniele Silvestri, who will create original projects designed in direct synergy and with the support of the Fondazione Musica per Roma. Great expectations for concerts by Brad Mehldau, one of the most lyrical and intimate voices of contemporary jazz piano who will perform solo and trio. More news regarding the Fondazione Musica per Roma’s collaborations with other cultural institutions, starting with Ascanio Celestini’s new project, which, on the occasion of Greccio 2023 on the eighth centenary of the first performance of the nativity scene of St. Francis, will be co-produced with the Greccio 2023 Committee and the Teatro Carcano in Milan. Another important collaboration is the one with the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma for the creation of Cantamondo, the multicultural choir that was created with the double intent of offering children from elementary school in the city of Rome a training course in choral singing and promoting their integration process with the territory through the language of music. Finally, the Fondazione Musica per Roma renews its collaboration with Daniele Cipriani for two unmissable dance performances: “Las Estrellas, Gala di Flamenco, Danza Spagnola, Escuela Bolera” (28 and 29/01) and the traditional “Les Étoiles” (15, 16 and 17/03), the stage of the most important names in classical ballet. New festivals are added to the Foundation’s important cultural production: Città in Scena, to recount some of the most stimulating occasions of urban regeneration with a cultural basis that, in Italian cities, have led to product innovation, process, valorization, rebirth, and reconversion of public spaces and places; Video Game Lab, the first Italian festival dedicated to the so-called applied games, i.e., interactive virtual simulations of reality that through play achieve educational, training, marketing and socio-cultural awareness goals. Finally, the formula of the Lezioni di Rock (Rock Lessons), captained by Ernesto Assante and Gino Castaldo, is renewed, revolutionized from this year by the fixed presence of live music from the Auditorium Band led by Gigi De Rienzo.
