CLAUDIO ABBADO ROOF GARDENS

The entire area surrounding the 38,000 square metre Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone is a large park open to the public and offering with a dual use: as the natural outdoor extension of the Auditorium's activities and as a large green space open to the city. The Auditorium's large park is laid out as a large semicircular tree-lined promenade, rich in Mediterranean vegetation: olive trees, oaks, pines, holm oaks, lime trees, maples and ivies. It can be visited during the opening hours of the Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone: every day, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There is also a children’s play area in the Auditorium gardens and an urban vegetable garden on the rooftop park. The vegetable garden, created in collaboration with the Fondazione Musica per Roma, is one of the projects promoted by the Associazione Valerio Daniel De Simoni, with offices in Rome and Sydney. The Valerio Daniel de Simoni organic vegetable garden represents an urban landmark promoting biodiversity and organic quality, to disseminate the importance of seasonal cycles, local produce and environmentally sustainable agriculture. The Valerio Daniel de Simoni organic vegetable garden represents an urban landmark promoting biodiversity and organic quality, to disseminate the importance of seasonal cycles, local produce and environmentally sustainable agriculture. Defined as a cultivation inspired by culture, it is shared with curious or enthusiastic visitors, local primary school children and guests of two Family Homes (to whom a large part of the produce is destined).
