The Harlem Gospel Cho ir is America's most famous gospel choir and one of the longest-running. Since 1986, Allen Bailey and his choir, made up of the finest voices in Harlem and New York City, have been traveling the world sharing joy in the Faith and raising funds to donate to good works. In more than 25 years of a grand career, the Harlem Gospel Choir has always sought to cross cultural barriers by uniting nations and people. The choir was founded by Allan Bailey, who has more than 30 years of experience in the music industry, appreciated for his work with the Commodores, Michael Jackson and Prince. TheHarlem Gospel Choir 's notoriety is mainly related to its numerous collaborations with international artists such as: Andre Rieu, Diana Ross, Bono, The Chieftains, Simple Minds, Live, Sinead O'Connor and the Gorillaz. The repertoire includes traditional and contemporary gospel, jazz and blues. Audience participation is an integral part of every choir show. The theme of each performance is "bringing peoples and nations together, giving something back to them." Bearers of majestic sounds and infectious energy, Harlem Gospel Choir has performed for the royal family, President Obama, Nelson Mandela, Elton John and two popes.
