Singer-songwriter, guitarist, actor, Glen Hansard returns to Italy to present All That Was East Is West Of Me Now, the new album released Oct. 20, along with the most celebrated songs from his repertoire. Known for his memorable concert-shows, born in Dublin in 1970 Hansard came to international attention through his participation in Alan Parker 's film "The Commitments." In 1990 he founded the cult band Frames, becoming one of Ireland's most internationally acclaimed and popular musicians. In 2008 his song "Falling Slowly" won the Oscar for best original song for "Once." He later devoted himself to his solo project. With "Between Two Shores" (2018), Glen Hansard brings to fruition the personal process of musical evolution, amid new influences and personal events that shape his writing skills. The latest studio work, "This Wild Willing," has won international critical acclaim by combining originality and simplicity and expressing the unprecedented artistic direction taken by Hansard between innovation, invention and experimentation.
