Fontaines D.C.

The Fontaines D.C . arrive on June 25, 2024 for the first time in the Quarry. Among the most beloved bands in the contemporary alternative scene, they won over audiences and critics with their debut album "Dogrel," conceived in 2019 on the streets of Dublin, which earned a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize. Confirmation of their talent came in 2020 with the excellent "A Hero's Death," earning a Grammy Award nomination in the Best Rock Album category. In April 2022 finally comes "Skinty Fia," the album of consecration. The Fontaines D.C. are Carlos O'Connell (guitar), Conor Curley (guitar), Conor Deegan (bass), Grian Chatten (vocals) and Tom Coll (drums). The band is named after a character from the movie "The Godfather," Johnny Fontane, a singer and movie star played by Al Martino. Fontane was the godson of Vito Corleone. The initials D.C. stand for "Dublin City."
