Cande y Paulo

Argentine jazz duo Cande y Paulo, already on a world tour as opening act last year with British artist Jack Savoretti, arrives April 27 at Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone. More than 10 million people were captivated by Cande Buasso and Paulo Carrizo's performance of "Barro Tal Vez," an achingly intense and minimalist Argentine song that went viral on Youtube in 2017. This was the first time that "Cande y Paulo," one of the most captivating musical couples to appear recently on the music scene, appeared on the international scene. Thanks to this hit in the following years they embarked on world tours during which they matured their debut album on Decca Records.Recorded in Los Angeles and produced by the legendary Lerry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Herbie Hancock) the album contains covers of songs by Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen and Cat Stevens, as well as songs by Argentine masters. The elaborate and elegant arrangements, all by Paulo Carrizo, are not the typical easy-listening jazz-style covers of songs: the delicate double bass of Cande Buasso, Paulo Carrizo's elegant piano combined with the notes of Jorge Cordero's guitar retrace in a totally personal way and great masterpieces of song.
