Researcher in charge of the Pavis (Pattern Analyis and computer VISion) Laboratory at IIT in Genoa. He was coordinator of the European project Memex aimed at developing artificial intelligence and augmented reality technologies that can foster social inclusion of people at risk of marginalization. His research interests include artificial intelligence systems capable of interpreting 3D scenes. He has ongoing experiments with various companies and corporations and projects to safeguard cultural heritage.
