Associate professor at the University of Toronto, where he teaches Media and Technology Policy. In his research he deals with digital countercultures and the relationship between work and new technologies. He is the author of Biohacker. Open science and the information society (Elèuthera, 2013) and of Introduction to Digital Media (with Adam Arvidsson, Il Mulino, 2016).
