"Il mondo dei quanti e la moderna interpretazione della realtà"

"The World of Quanta and the modern interpretation of reality"

Macroscopic coherence is a fundamental property of all phenomena of life, those in which through adequate cooperative metabolic processes the order of a complex organism can effectively counter the disorder caused by the inevitable interaction with the external environment. Recent physics has created a series of revolutionary experiments in which macroscopic coherence has been achieved and maintained over time. Bose-Einstein’s condensation, superconductivity, the trapping of atoms and ions, the cooperative effects in modern quantum computation and Schroedinger’s cat with many photons of parametric nature. Recent experiments have clarified the link between the microscopic world and the macroscopic world, the world in which we live. We can thus give a convincing, simple and extremely surprising answer to the crucial question of contemporary philosophy: why do we not see quantum phenomena in the world of everyday life?
