The German philosopher cites Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, and Napoleon as examples. But are we sure that it was only great leaders, or kings and queens, emperors and popes who &#8220;made history&#8221;? Of course, we owe radical changes in peoples&#8217; destinies to them, but there were men and women who interpreted reality in new ways, and through the power of their ideas were able to generate a new worldview.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The series of Lessons in History is designed by the <\/span><b>Laterza Publishers <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and realized in co-production with the <\/span><b>Music for Rome Foundation. <\/b> <\/p>\n<p><b>Laura Pepe<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  will address the issue of  <\/span><b>justice<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  through the figure of Antigone whose tragic parable still prompts reflection on the real meaning of this word.  <\/span><b>Corrado Augias<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  will talk about  <\/span><b>brotherhood<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, causing us to discover a Jesus stripped of all theological references.  <\/span><b>Stefano Mancuso<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  will offer a journey into the fascinating world of the<\/span><b>evolution<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, starting with the eight books dedicated by Darwin to plants.  <\/span><b>Alexander Vanoli<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  will question the idea of  <\/span><b>West<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  And on the figure of Christopher Columbus.  <\/span><b>Guido Barbujani<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the geneticist will lead the audience to discover Cesare Lombroso and the concept of &#8216;<\/span><b>human race<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;. Emma Goldman &#8211; philosopher, anarchist and champion of women &#8211; will be the focus of the lecture by  <\/span><b>Valeria Palumbo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to reflect on the concept of <\/span><b>love<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>Chiara Colombini<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will tell the story of Ferruccio Parri and his idea of<\/span><b> freedom<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It will then be  <\/span><b>Alessandro Barbero<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to explain how <\/span><b>poverty<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, according to Mother Teresa of Calcutta, should not be fought but loved. <\/span><b>Alessandro Portelli<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will reconstruct the idea of <\/span><b>hope<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> according to Bruce Springsteen, from the failure of the s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">American convention to the optimism of <\/span><i><br \/>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rock and roll<\/span><br \/>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
