After &#8220;Water Stress&#8221; alongside Pasquale Mirra, the Brescian trumpeter now finds himself in a quartet with <strong>Enrico Terragnoli, Gabrio Baldacci <\/strong>and<strong> Cristiano Calcagnile<\/strong>. &#8220;C.R.A.S.H.&#8221; is the result of free associations that, along with the roughness of noise rock and post punk, characterize the fiery journey of the three suites encapsulated in the enigmatic title: a kind of secret code, unrevealed by Mitelli, in which is contained, however, an important memory of the artist&#8217;s past. The album, consisting of three suites, is a dense, ensemble work that does not involve individuality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mitelli<\/strong> &#8216;s music envelops, enrapturing but not enchaining, leaving the listener free to lose himself in the incessant stream of sound that powerfully seeps in. Included in the first suite, entitled &#8220;Frequency,&#8221; are references to <strong>Sun Ra<\/strong>&#8216;s &#8220;Lanquidity.&#8221; The finale of the second, titled &#8220;Rash,&#8221; features &#8220;A tratti&#8221; by <strong>Giovanni Lindo Ferretti<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>C.S.I<\/strong>., in which <strong>Mitelli<\/strong> even indulges in the liberating burst of singing, surrendering to the emotional and musical feeling suggested to him by the song. A drag that comes to complete sublimation in the third suite, entitled &#8220;Take Off.&#8221; The latter, in fact, in all its structures is entirely <strong>Mitelli<\/strong> &#8216;s creation and, true to the idea of take-off suggested by the title, opens with the arati section, a term identifying a Hindu ritual of purification through fire. A path, then, much more physical than cerebral that resolves into a feeling more related to the stomach than to the intellect.<\/p>\n<p>The quartet&#8217;s musicians boast prestigious collaborations such as.  <strong>Anthony Braxton<\/strong>, <strong>Stefano Bollani,<\/strong> <strong>Rob Mazurek<\/strong>,  <strong>Gianluca Petrella<\/strong>,  <strong>Wu Fei<\/strong>,  <strong>Carla Kihlstedt<\/strong>,  <strong>Tristan Honsinger<\/strong>,  <strong>William Parker<\/strong>,  <strong>Zu<\/strong>,  <strong>Buch Morris<\/strong>,  <strong>Paolo Fresu<\/strong>,  <strong>Paul McCandless<\/strong>,  <strong>Enrico Rava<\/strong>, <strong>Markus Stockhausen<\/strong>, <strong>Alexander Hawkins<\/strong>, <strong>Ken Vandermark<\/strong>, musician and winemaker <strong>Gabriele Mitelli<\/strong> has now made his mark on the contemporary music scene not only as one of the most authentic and genuine voices but also as a well-rounded artist for his passion and creativity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Gabriele Mitelli, in quartet with Enrico Terragnoli, Gabrio Baldacci and Cristiano Calcagnile, presents 3 suites under the banner of free associations.
