Ten years after her last recording project, <strong>Carla Marcotulli<\/strong> returns to tell us twelve stories, performing twelve songs arranged by <strong>Dick Halligan<\/strong>, her longtime collaborator, famous for being the founder of the jazz rock band <strong>Blood, Sweat &amp; Tears<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Great jazz musicians collaborated on the record: in addition to  <strong>Dick Halligan<\/strong> on piano and keyboards (replaced on two tracks by  <strong>Greg Burk<\/strong> and in one from  <strong>Gilda Butt\u00e0<\/strong>), we find.  <strong>Bruce Ditmas<\/strong> on drums,  <strong>Antonio Leofreddi<\/strong> on viola,  <strong>Sandro Gibellini<\/strong> on guitar,  <strong>Marco Siniscalco<\/strong> on bass,  <strong>John Thomas<\/strong> and <strong> Stefano Cantarano<\/strong> on double bass,  <strong>Pietro Tonolo<\/strong> on soprano sax,  <strong>Giancarlo Maurino<\/strong> on tenor,  <strong>Rossano Emili<\/strong> on baritone, <strong>Aldo Bassi<\/strong> on trumpet, <strong>Mario Corvini<\/strong>, <strong>Stan Adam<\/strong> on trombone and in a track <strong>Israel Varela<\/strong> on percussion.<\/p>\n<p>The songs are all original except for the standard &#8220;God Bless the Child,&#8221; a spontaneous tribute to the most beloved singer of the  <strong>Marcotulli<\/strong>; the words of &#8220;I am nobody&#8221; are taken from a poem by  <strong>Emily Dickinson<\/strong>, from which the song &#8220;Io canto&#8221; is also inspired; &#8220;Vado di fretta&#8221; is co-written with  <strong>Paul Pietrangeli<\/strong>  to the music of  <strong>Sandro Gibellini<\/strong>. &#8220;A Schubert Tune With a Gershwin Touch (Gretchen am Spinnrade)&#8221; is a lied by <strong>Schubert<\/strong>, arranged as a New Orleans-style funeral march with a surprise ending. The last track, &#8220;Needless To Say,&#8221; to lyrics by <strong>Greg Burk<\/strong>, uses his piano accompaniment and closes the disc with a free
