{"id":5033,"date":"2020-09-15T15:47:59","date_gmt":"2020-09-15T14:47:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.auditorium.com\/productions\/too-many-pockets-2\/"},"modified":"2023-03-17T11:03:28","modified_gmt":"2023-03-17T10:03:28","slug":"too-many-pockets-2","status":"publish","type":"productions","link":"https:\/\/www.auditorium.com\/en\/productions\/too-many-pockets-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Too Many Pockets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After exploring African polyrhythms following a trip to Senegal on the previous Parco della Musica Records-produced record &#8220;Dajaloo,&#8221; a word from the Wolof language meaning &#8220;to be alike, to be together.&#8221;  <strong>Peter Tonolo<\/strong>  returns with &#8220;Too Many Pockets,&#8221; which this time features much sought-after, extended, electronic timbral variety.<\/p>\n<p>Joining him in this new jazz music project are guitarist <strong>Giancarlo Bianchetti<\/strong>, with whom he has also played for some time in a duo, and drummer <strong>Marco Frattini<\/strong>. A trio, then, according to <strong>Tonolo<\/strong> himself, built not by subtraction but by addition, an evolution of the stable duo project that is enriched by the rhythm section to leave the chamber dimension and evolve into the trio.<\/p>\n<p>The title brings to mind the multiple possibilities and variety of sound that the musicians bring to the table, <strong>Tonolo<\/strong> &#8216;s multi-instrumentalism playing saxophones, flutes, including his own flutax, meets Bianchetti&#8217;s electric guitar and electronics, all supported by <strong>Frattini<\/strong>&#8216;s rhythmic fabric. The tracks on the disc are all original compositions by <strong>Tonolo<\/strong> and <strong>Bianchetti<\/strong> except for two pieces, one by <strong>Ellington<\/strong> and the other by
