Performing an entire concert solo amounts to rediscovering the essence of one’s own poetic expression in a more intimate, fundamental dimension in which sound measures itself against silence. Certainly this represents an enormous challenge, especially for the audience, but with a dash of irony and a spirit of playfulness even the double bass can become an excellent storyteller.
