What It Is. Electric Miles’ Directions ’68-‘86

A reworking for orchestra of the most important pieces from Miles Davis’ “electric” period (1968-1986). The recording conveys the energy of that music with the power of a big band and pays homage to the sounds of an absolutely unique season, packed with utopistic visions and breathtaking impulses. The project is enhanced by the participation of the extraordinary guitarist Mike Stern, historic leader of that musical revolution along with David, accompanied here by the talented percussionist Kim Thompson.
