PIETRO IODICE
Born in Naples, he moved to Rome in 1988 and quickly became a well-known drummer on the Italian jazz scene, creating the Roma Jazz Ensemble, Big Band with Mario Corvini, which performs pieces from the jazz tradition as well as original works by Corvini and Iodice’s brother, the pianist Pino Iodice. His concert activity has taken him to clubs and jazz festivals all over the world. He has collaborated with Italian and foreign artists such as Massimo Urbani, Art Farmer, Jimmy Woody, Benny Golson, Rick Margitza, John Patitucci, Jerry Bergonzi, Steve Turre, Phil Woods, Cedar Walton, Paul McCandless, Ronnie Cuber, Martial Solal, Kenny Wheeler, Bob Mintzer and many others. He has written a ‘minus one’ for drums entitled “Suonare la batteria nella Big Band.”
