MASSIMO PIRONE


He plays the trombone, bass trombone and tuba. He started his musical career playing for numerous televison programmes. For the theatre he has worked with Gigi Proietti for over 10 years. Since 1987 he has done studio recordings for almost all the films scored by Ennio Morricone, Luis Bacalor, Nicola Piovani and many others. He has worked with many singers, among them Renato Zero, Ornella Vanoni, Umberto Bindi and Giorgio Gaber. In the field of jazz he has worked with Italian and American artists. He has recorded a CD under his name entitled “Portrait of trombone,” dedicated to trombonists’ compositions, and another recorded with Bill Watrous and his Trombone Sound is to be released shortly.
Currently he is director of his quartet and his trombone band.
