GIANNI ODDI
A versatile instrumentalist, he alternates his musical activity between jazz and classical music. For over ten years he was the first alto sax with the RAI Orchestra di Musica Leggera in Rome, collaborating with musicians and conductors such as L. Minelli, J. Lewis, R. Charles, S. Davis Jr., G. Ferrio, B. Canfora, N. Piovani, B. Tommaso, D. Gillespie, G.Evans, G. Russell, M. Westbrook, J. Lewis and C. Bolling. He has also been a member of the SAXES MACHINE, a saxophone band directed by B. Biriaco. For ever ten years he has played with M. Corvini and P. Iodice’s Roma Jazz Ensemble. In 1991 he founded the IALSAX QUARTET, with which he has toured extensively all over the world. For several years he has been the director of the St. Louis Big Band. Currently he performs and teaches in Italy and abroad.
