ALDO BASSI


A trumpet player, he has collaborated with many Italian and foreign musicians, including Franco and Dino Piana, Oscar Valdambrini, Tony Scott, Maurizio Giammarco, Roberto Gatto, Rosario Giuliani, Enrico Rava, Gary Bartz, Steve Turre, Steve Grossman, George Garzone, Benny Golson and Rick Margitza. He has participated in numerous festivals. Currently he teaches at the Conservatory in Frosinone: trumpet and jazz trombone as well as jazz ensembles. For years he directed the Saint Louis Big Band and the DAILA Big Band in Rome. Among his albums released: “Conversation” with Franco Piana Big Band; “Il Principe” and “Notte” with Riccardo Fossi’s Tankio Band, “Ellington” with the Mario Raja Big Band and “Signor Jones” with the Roma Jazz Ensemble. With his quintet formed along with Rosario Giuliani he released “L’incontro,” and with his quartet his releases are “Distanze,” “Media Res” and “Muah.”
